F.A.Q

HOW ARE YOUR LISTS COMPILED?

Our national senior citizen database is compiled using a multitude of public, private, and proprietary data sources. Senior Source List partners with some of the most respected data compilers to assist in the aggregation of our senior citizen data. Over the past 35 years, we have perfected cross-compilation technology, enabling us to produce a database more diverse and complete than any other senior list on the market. Our senior data is sourced mainly from proprietary data partners, as well as public record information. We depend on both online and offline feeds for our compilation. Some of our more common sources are the white pages, telephone directories, public records, postal records, online and off-line surveys, census data, self-reported, warranty card registration, subscriptions, opt-in email responses, government records, mail and telephone inquirers, voter registration, and telemarketing efforts. Each name in our database is cross-referenced against multiple sources to ensure accuracy. In addition, our entire database is updated monthly using National Change of Address (ncoa®) processing to ensure deliverability. In addition to our core competency, we also have access to over 60,000 different databases. Our list brokerage division specializes in the list marketing field: They have access to numerous sources of data, depending on what type of list is needed by our clients.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT GEOGRAPHIC SELECTIONS THAT I CAN USE TO DEFINE MY LIST?

Our senior lists can be customized by almost any geographic parameter. You can customize your list by the following geography selections: state, county, city, zip code, zip code radius, SCF, carrier route, metropolitan area (MSA), telephone area code and prefix, census tract, and block groups.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU UPDATE YOUR DATABASE?

Our database is continuously updated; it's virtually a living file that has new components added frequently. In addition to adding new data, we update our entire senior database monthly. Our entire national senior database is processed against the ncoa® file to ensure address accuracy.

WHAT IS THE PRICING FOR A SENIOR CITIZEN LIST?

Our pricing is largely based on volume and is calculated using "/M" (/M = per one thousand names). We employ a flat price system, which means you are not charged for additional selections used. We do offer a competitive price match guarantee if you find a provider whose price is less expensive than our senior source list. In this case, we will match their price and beat it by 10%.

HOW OFTEN CAN I USE THE DATA?

There are two forms of list usage – one-time use and unlimited usage for one year. With one-time use, you are allowed to use the list one time (this is mostly applied to orders for labels). For an additional cost, a list may be rented for multiple uses for one year. All compiled lists are seeded with decoy names that will track the usage of the list. If you purchase a list for one-time use and would like to reuse the list, you may do so for a "reuse" charge if approved by the list owner.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN OR EXCHANGE POLICY?

List orders are not subject to returns or exchanges. Orders that are cancelled after shipping will be charged 50% of the order amount plus applicable shipping charges. All sales of lists are final.

WHAT IS YOUR DELIVERABILITY GUARANTEE?

Our senior list is constantly updated to ensure accuracy; however, people move, so it's impossible to have 100% deliverability on any list. Our deliverability guarantee is 95%, which means that you should expect less than 5% of bad names. If you have purchased a mailing list or mailing labels, Senior Source List offers to replace any undeliverable names you receive or refund the cost for each name purchased. If you receive more than 5%, we will refund you fifteen cents on any undelivered mail piece over 5% and thirty cents per mail piece for any undeliverable over 15%. This is subject to an absolute limit equivalent to the amount you paid to the Senior Source List under the invoice. To qualify for a refund, the original mailing must take place within 30 days of receiving the list from the Senior Source List. Also, to receive the credit for undeliverable mail, all mailing pieces, stamped undelivered or undeliverable by the U.S. Post Office, must be returned to the Senior Source List within 60 days of the date that you received the list or labels. All rebates that are granted will be returned in the form of a credit on a future order. No monetary refund will be offered. The guarantee does not apply to duplicate copies of original sets of labels, magnetic tape reuse, or telephone numbers.

HOW DO I ORDER MY LIST?

Ordering your list is easy. Fax an order to 1-(845) 362-6433, email (sales@amerilist.com), or call your Senior Source List representative at 1-(800) 882-9930.

WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME FROM PLACING MY ORDER TO RECEIVING IT?

At Senior Source List, we understand that time is a valuable asset; that's why we make it our business to save you as much time as possible. It's our goal always to have the data back to you the same day, and in some special instances, we may deliver a list within 24 hours of ordering if special processing is required.

WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM ORDER AMOUNTS THAT I MUST MEET?

There is a minimum order with each list that is set either by volume amount or dollar amount. Please ask your representative for each specific minimum.

DO YOU OFFER VOLUME AND FREQUENCY DISCOUNTS?

Volume and frequency discounts are available to all customers. Please ask your sales representative if you are going to be purchasing in high volume or frequently.

Checks may be mailed to 40 Ramland Road South, Suite 203B Orangeburg, N.Y. 10962.

HOW WILL MY LISTS BE ARRANGED WHEN I RECEIVE THEM?

Most lists are arranged in zip code order unless specified otherwise.

HOW CAN I RECEIVE MY DATA?

Please see below the different media your data may come in. It may come electronically, by email, with a zip file with your data included. The list can be delivered to you in either Excel format or as an ASCII comma-delimited text file. This is the quickest route to receive your data. CD-ROM: Have the ability to access your data at any time from your desktop and print your data in any format necessary. Magnetic Tape: A 9-track, 1600 or 6250 bit-per-inch reel-to-reel tape; letter shops and data houses widely use this format for data transfers, mail merges/purges, and file suppression. Cheshire Labels: The letter shop standard. Cheshire labels may only be affixed by machine. Pressure Sensitive Labels: The best label for small mail runs or in-house mailings, P/S labels can either be hand- or machine-fixed. 3×5 Index Cards/Sales Leads Cards: Perfect for your telemarketing team to keep track of calls and valuable call information. Prospect List: Use these cards for the distribution of leads/prospects to sales offices or dealers for telephone sales.

DO YOU OFFER CREDIT TO QUALIFIED CUSTOMERS?

Yes. As a professional courtesy, we offer "Net 30 Terms" to qualified customers. To apply for a credit account, the following is necessary: A customer must have a history of prepayment (at least three pre-paid orders) and a completed credit application. (A pre-printed customer credit application is acceptable; however, it must be accompanied by a signed Senior Source List credit application, including at least four trade references. Upon receipt of the above, Senior Source List will review the application and credit conditions will be granted based on a review of the business relationship, number of orders placed, size of orders, your bank and trade references, as well as information received from one or more business credit sources. We will consider all of the factors, and you will be notified in writing if your application has been approved or declined. Please allow at least three business days for this process.

DO YOU OFFER COMMISSIONS TO RECOGNIZED BROKERS AND AGENCIES?

Recognized list brokers and agencies can receive commissions on most lists. Please inquire with your representative for percentages.

DO YOU REQUIRE A SAMPLE MAIL PIECE OR TELEMARKETING SCRIPT TO BE ABLE TO PURCHASE A LIST?

The use of some selections will require a sample mail piece or telemarketing script when purchasing a list. The requirements will vary from list to list. If the required sample information is not provided, we will not be able to process your list order.

WHAT IS A NET NAME ARRANGEMENT?

A net name arrangement is an agreement between the mailer and Senior Source List to guarantee that a certain percentage of names delivered will be billed. This comes in very handy, for example, when purchasing multiple lists from different companies that need to be merged to remove any duplicates. The mailer agrees to pay for a certain percentage of names at full price, and the names that are not used due to duplication are only paid for by a minimal run charge.

CAN I ORDER A PORTION OF A LIST OR DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE ALL THE NAMES THAT ARE AVAILABLE?

You may purchase a portion of a list by selecting a portion called an "nth." When you purchase a set of records by nth, the records are marked so that you may come back at a later date and purchase the remainder of the unused records if you choose. We are also able to suppress names from any lists you may currently have when we process your order. You must notify your sales representative if you have a need for "in-house file suppression."

IS THERE A COST TO REPRODUCE A FILE THAT I HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED?

There will be a charge of 50% of the original amount, plus any shipping charges that would apply to duplicate the file you have already received. We do not keep copies of client orders for more than 30 days.

HOW DO I GET MY NAME REMOVED FROM A MAILING LIST?

If your name appeared on a list that we procured and you would like to be removed from the mailing list, please give us your name and address information, and we will forward it to the compilation group for suppression. You may also contact the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) at (http://www.the-dma.org) to have your name added to their "do not mail" file. This will ensure removal from a larger number of lists. Call (212) 768-7277 or mail them to the Direct Marketing Association, 1120 Avenue of the Americas, New York, N.Y. 10036-6700.

ARE YOUR LISTS SCRUBBED AGAINST THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY?

All lists that are provided to you from the Senior Source List that include consumer phone numbers will be scrubbed against the Do Not Call Registry unless you request to receive the DNC names because you are an exempt organization. There is no extra charge for DNC scrubbing; only a valid Subscription Account Number (SAN) must be provided to the Senior Source List prior to ordering. If you wish not to have yours scrubbed against the Do Not Call Registry, we may ask you to sign a DNC waiver. For more information on a Subscription Account Number, please visit www.telemarketing.donotcall.gov.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COMPILED LIST AND A RESPONSE LIST?

Our U.S. Senior Citizen Database is a "Compiled List." This refers to a list of people or businesses built from published, public and proprietary sources, such as yellow pages, white pages and telephone directories, public records, postal records, online and off-line surveys, census data, self-reported, warranty card registration, subscriptions, opt-in email responses, government records, mail and telephone inquirers, and voter registration. These lists are the best sources for reaching large groups of consumers or businesses. Compiled lists are often more accessible and normally lower in price than a response list. Response List: These lists of people are proven direct mail buyers, responders, and subscribers of a specific product or publication. These names are derived as the result of an actual response or specific action that the consumer has imitated. The list owner, usually the company with whom the consumer made the transaction, might sell, rent, or license the buyer information to generate revenues. Traditionally, response lists are gathered from magazine subscriptions, shoppers of certain stores or companies, buyers of certain products, attendees of seminars, etc. These lists tend to be lower in quantity and offer limited geography; some mailers believe that response lists will deliver better response rates than their compiled counterparts. Often, usage approval and cost are drawbacks for mailers wanting to explore response mailing lists. As a full-service list broker, our consultants can help you find a wide range of "response or subscription lists", and we will negotiate on your behalf with the list owners to ensure you receive the best price and the most accurate names.
